T - Temperature
Reference for the ISA 5.1 first letter T. Temperature is the second most common first letter after F. Watch for TE, TW pairs being mis-extracted as duplicates. They are two distinct items occupying the same loop. SIS-classified high-temperature trips usually carry the TSHH or TAHH suffix per IEC 61511.

Typical placement.
On a vessel nozzle, a pipe penetration, or a skin temperature point. The TE and TW pair shows up as two tags at the same physical location. TE-201 is the actual sensing element, TW-201 is the well it inserts into. Most commissioning teams treat them as one record but extraction tooling often separates them because they are tagged separately on the P&ID.
