Common questions
What formats of legacy index are supported?
PDF scans, typed Excel or CSV exports, and handwritten-then-scanned indexes are all supported. You review and confirm the rows.
How is signal class assigned when it is missing?
If the legacy index omits signal class, Tagsight resolves it from the tag type in the convention the drawing itself uses and you confirm the resolved rows in review. You can override in the review canvas before export.
Can it link instruments to equipment?
Yes, when the legacy index carries an equipment column or when a linked P&ID is uploaded together with the index. The linked equipment tag is preserved in its own column.
What happens to the datasheet reference column?
Datasheet references are extracted as-is into a dedicated column. If the reference is a document number, it appears exactly as printed on the index.
Does DEXPI export include all fields?
Yes. The DEXPI XML export maps tag, type, service, signal class, loop, range, and P&ID sheet reference to the corresponding DEXPI 1.3 elements.
What is included on signup?
Enough to import a legacy index and export a clean workbook.
Convert the index.
Upload a legacy instrument index in any format, get a structured workbook with every tag, signal class, loop, and reference already populated.
