What counts as a line?

Any named line on the drawing, meaning a stroke that carries a line number printed alongside it. Process pipework, utility headers, instrument air tubing, and flare / vent relief lines are all included. Anonymous strokes without a line number are excluded.

How is the line number parsed?

Each segment is matched against the conventions on the drawing: nominal size in inches or DN, material code (CS, SS, A106), service code, sequence number, and insulation / trace flags. The parsed fields populate their own columns so the line list is filterable.

Which line-numbering conventions are supported?

ASME B31.3 service classes, NORSOK piping classes, Shell DEP, Aramco SAES, and in-house operator conventions are parsed.

Are off-page connectors resolved?

Yes. When a line ends in an off-page connector, the connector tag is recorded in the From or To column. If the matching connector appears on a sister sheet, the two sides are reconciled into a single line entry.

Does this work on scanned drawings?

Yes. Scanned, faded, and photographed P&IDs are supported alongside CAD-exported PDFs.

Tag dialects.

Each sheet's tag convention is read as-is. Tags are never silently rewritten to ISA. Multi-site projects with mixed conventions produce one merged line list, with every tag in the form it was drawn in.
