Every decarbonization project on an existing unit begins with the same question: what is actually installed. The electrification study, the capture tie-in and the blending MOC each need the as-built instrument index, I/O list and line list of the unit they touch, and on most plants that record exists only as the drawings themselves, revised over decades and often scanned. The retrofit cannot be scoped, estimated or reviewed until someone has rebuilt it.
How it works.
- 01Read the as-built set into a baseline registerUpload the current P&IDs for the unit, scanned or CAD-exported, in whatever convention the plant has used since commissioning. Tagsight reads the instruments, lines, valves and equipment items it finds on each sheet, as drawn, with the sheet reference on each row, and your engineer confirms or corrects the reads before the baseline is registered.
- 02Mark the retrofit scope on the drawingsThe tie-in points for the capture unit, the motors and heaters being electrified, or the fuel-gas lines taking blended hydrogen are scoped on the canvas. The affected instruments, lines and equipment come out as a scoped subset of the baseline, ready for the study or the estimate.
- 03Compare the modified set against the baselineWhen the retrofit drawings are issued, register them as a revision. The change report lists every added, removed and modified tag on the original sheets, which is the MOC record the pre-startup review reads.
- 04Hand the register to the next stageExport the baseline and the scoped subset to the formats the study team, the DCS integrator or the capture EPC already import. The same workspace carries the unit through the retrofit to the as-built update.
