Supported formats
- PDF, vector, CAD exports and raster, scanned PDFs
- PNG, single-page P&ID images
- JPG, JPEG, single-page P&ID images
- TIFF, TIF, single or multi-page P&ID scans
Vector PDFs, exported from CAD software generally produce the best extraction accuracy. Image formats, PNG, JPG, TIFF work well for individual drawing pages.
Limits
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Maximum file size | 250 MB, larger files on paid plans |
| Maximum pages per upload | 200 pages |
| Minimum DPI, for scans | No minimum, but 200 plus DPI recommended |
Tips for best quality
- Export from CAD whenever possible. Vector PDFs preserve text clarity at any zoom
- Scan at 200 plus DPI if you're working from paper drawings
- Avoid heavily annotated pages, handwritten markups over instrument bubbles reduce accuracy
- Split large document sets into batches of 50-100 pages for faster processing
- Standard page sizes, A1, A3, Letter, Tabloid work best
What counts toward my drawing quota.
Each engineering drawing, P&ID, SAMA logic, loop diagram, single-line drawing counts once toward your monthly drawing quota when classified as a billable drawing type.
**Counted toward your monthly limit. **
- P&IDs
- SAMA logic diagrams
- Loop diagrams
- Single-line drawings, electrical SLDs
**Included with every plan, not counted. **
- Datasheets
- Instrument indexes
- Cable schedules
- Junction-box schedules
- Cause-effect matrices
- Equipment specs and other tabular extractions
Drawings are deducted from your quota after processing completes successfully. If processing fails, nothing is deducted. If a document is classified as a supporting document, tabular type after upload, the deducted drawing is automatically restored to your quota.
