P&ID extraction for Siemens PCS 7 projects
PCS 7 to PCS neo migrations require re-casting the existing I/O and tag database into the new system's data model. Before that conversion can start, the project needs a verified, signal-classed I/O list off the as-built drawing set, because the live DCS point table and the controlled P&IDs diverged somewhere in the years between the original commissioning and today's upgrade scope.
Read one of your own drawings.
Drop a P&ID, instrument index, or schedule. Tagsight reads it to the tag and opens a workspace you keep when you sign in.

- I/O list with ISA 5.1 signal classification ready for IO module allocation
- Instrument index covering field instruments and on-skid items
- Equipment list including vessels, columns, exchangers, pumps, and packaged units
- Line list with pipe spec breaks and service classification
- Marshalling and remote-I/O panel count estimated from the I/O list
- Revision comparison between project-stage drawing releases
- Outputs export as Excel, CSV, JSON, and TIA Portal compatible XML where the project standardizes on the Siemens engineering toolchain
- TIA Portal XML export covers tag definitions and global data block structures. The configuration build itself remains in the engineer's hands
- Tag conventions are preserved as drawn, which matters on PCS 7 projects in pharma and food-and-beverage where ISA mixes with hygiene-focused house schemes
- Multi-page drawing sets are matched on off-page connectors so cross-unit signals stay connected

Is the TIA Portal XML output a complete project file.
No. The XML covers tag definitions and the global data block the I/O list maps to. Block logic, network configuration, HMI screens, and the rest of the engineering build remain with the controls engineer.
Are you partnered with Siemens.
No. Tagsight is independent. The page describes the engineering workflow on PCS 7-based projects.
Can the output handle hybrid PCS 7 plus PLC architectures.
Yes. The dataset is signal-class first, not card-architecture first, so it fits whether the IO terminates on PCS 7 ET 200 stations or on a downstream PLC fleet under a separate workspace.
Are scanned brownfield P&IDs supported.
Yes. Scanned drawings, vector PDFs, and CAD-exported PDFs run as input, which matters on PCS 7 retrofits in older facilities.
