B - Burner, Combustion
Reference for the ISA 5.1 first letter B. Most B-prefix work hides inside a packaged Burner Management System block. Vendor-supplied logic that the P&ID represents as one box rather than spelling out every flame detector and ignitor. When you do see B tags broken out, it's usually a flame scanner or a burner-running status switch the BPCS needs for sequencing. The cement kiln and recovery boiler folks see them more than anyone.
