Build a commissioning-loop package from ISA-5.4 loop diagrams.
Loop diagrams are the canonical commissioning reference. One loop per page, primary element through final element, every wire and terminal between, and the commissioning manager opening three documents per loop until the loop register exists.
Workflow.
- 01
Upload the loop set
PDF set, page per loop. The extraction reads each page as a single loop record with primary element, transmitter, controller, final element, signal class, and every cable, core, and terminal in the loop.
- 02
Cross-reference against the I/O list
Each loop joins to the workspace I/O list on the instrument tag. Loops missing from the I/O list and instruments missing from the loop set both surface in a reconciliation report so the commissioning team has a complete coverage picture before any plant walk happens.
- 03
Export the commissioning package
Excel workbook with one row per loop, every termination listed alongside the loop tag, signal class, and source page. CSV for the commissioning database. JSON for the calibration management tool.
What you get.
- Loop register with primary element, transmitter, controller, final element per loop
- Field, marshalling, and control terminal references for every loop
- Cable and core IDs per loop leg, joined to the cable register where one exists
- Reconciliation report against the I/O list, loops without I/O entries, instruments without loops
FAQ.
01Loop diagrams are usually one-per-PDF-page. Does Tagsight handle a 200-page loop set.
Yes. Each page extracts as a single loop record. The workspace aggregates them into a unified loop register on output, with the source page metadata preserved per row.02Some of our loop diagrams have hand-drawn red-line revisions. Does that affect extraction.
Hand-drawn revisions are read with reduced confidence and flagged on the output for human review. They are never silently treated as standard text.
