Common questions
What is the difference between an instrument index and an I/O list?
An instrument index is the master inventory of every tag in the drawing set, with metadata. An I/O list is the subset of instruments that connect to a PLC or DCS, classified by signal type (AI, AO, DI, DO) for module sizing and tag-database creation.
What does the equipment list include?
Major equipment from the drawing: pumps, compressors, vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, dryers, and similar items. Each entry carries its tag, equipment type, and a description.
Can I export each document separately?
Yes. The I/O tab exports to all eight formats (Excel, CSV, PLCCreator, JSON, TIA Portal, Rockwell L5X, DEXPI, annotated PDF). Equipment and line tabs export to scoped Excel and CSV.
How does revision comparison work?
Upload two revisions of the same P&ID set. The system surfaces added, removed, and modified tags with side-by-side detail. Output is a Change Report Excel suitable for MOC packages and discipline reviews.
